ABSTRACT Seven novel thioxo‐pyrimidine derivatives not previously reported in the literature were synthesized via a Biginelli‐type multicomponent reaction. These synthesized compounds were subsequently reacted with propargyl bromide under base‐catalyzed conditions, yielding eight novel thiazolo3,2‐apyrimidine derivatives not previously described in the literature. In this step, the reaction conditions were optimized to improve the efficiency of the base‐catalyzed transformation. The structures of all synthesized compounds were elucidated by 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, and LC–MS/MS analyses.
