This article is devoted to the operational situation (through the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR), in Siberia and the Far East (on the example of the Tyumen region, the Altai Territory and the Khabarovsk Territory) in the late 1970s — early 1980s of the last century. Law enforcement officers controlled the operational situation in the area, taking measures to isolate and eliminate representatives of the criminal community. Materials on the crimes committed in the Soviet Union, were long closed from the public and were, as a rule, classified. The operational situation in the eastern part of the USSR was complex and required urgent measures to improve it. The leadership of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out tremendous work to strengthen the human resources potential and introduce new technical equipment, and the prestige of working in the internal affairs bodies was significantly increased.
