Cognitive rehabilitation is a potential post-diagnostic therapy for people living with dementia. Results from a randomised controlled trial and local implementations are promising, showing positive outcomes and feedback from staff and clients. Keen to enhance our post-diagnostic support, our memory service has developed a shortened version of this programme, teaching clients to use a step-by-step manual (My Life, My Goals, 2021) to create and achieve meaningful goals. As the facilitator of these sessions in our service, the first author (AW) has reflected on my experiences, including challenges and successes, summarising future improvements and key considerations.
