abstract Background: Current psychological interventions for ego dysfunction and mental rumination mostly focus on symptom correction, failing to address the core mechanism of linguistic-psychological vector entanglement and the imbalance of the native Sense of Awareness (SOA) system. Eastern mind-body wisdom provides a valuable perspective for awareness-oriented psychological regulation, yet lacks a standardized scientific paradigm for clinical translation. Objective: To construct a novel mind-body intervention system (Sō Practice) based on the Vector Psychology Dual-pathway Hypothesis and the Sense of Awareness (SOA) model, and to verify its clinical feasibility through a small-sample pre-experiment and typical case analysis. Method: This methodological study first established the theoretical framework of Sō Practice, including the SOA-Ego Middle-way Symbiosis Model, and constructed two operational forms: the Clinical Interactive Form and the Individual Self-directed Form (Basic/Enhanced Version). A 4-week pre-experiment was conducted on 15 subjects with subclinical mental rumination to detect changes in the Chinese Psychological Rumination Scale (CPICS) scores and heart rate variability (HRV) high-frequency (HF) values before and after intervention. Meanwhile, two typical cases with intervention bottlenecks after traditional therapy were analyzed to explore the clinical application effect of Sō Practice. Results: Preliminary pre-experiment results showed that after Sō Practice intervention, the CPICS scores of subjects decreased significantly (t=6.23, p<0.001, Cohen’s d=1.58), and the HRV HF values increased significantly (t=-5.87, p<0.001, Cohen’s d=1.49), both with large effect sizes. Two typical cases achieved effective symptom relief after short-term Sō Practice intervention, and the clinical follow-up showed stable therapeutic effects. Conclusion: Sō Practice constructs a standardized scientific paradigm for the clinical translation of Eastern mind-body wisdom, with the core of "dissolving vector entanglement and manifesting native SOA". Characterized by short-term efficiency and flexible operation, it provides a new approach for the intervention of ego dysfunction and mental rumination. Preliminary results verify its clinical feasibility, and large-sample empirical studies are needed to further confirm its efficacy.
