This demonstration presents a methodological and archival framework developed to prepare the documentary archive of the Museum of Ethnology of Porto (MEP), a materially disappeared institution, for public access through a digital platform. It addresses the challenges of digitising and structuring archival material when institutional memory depends exclusively on surviving documentation. The contribution focuses on archival organisation, digitisation workflows, metadata standardisation, user mediation, and visualisation strategies, demonstrating how these processes enable the reconstruction and interpretation of institutional history in digital environments. The case offers a replicable methodological model for archives at risk or associated with materially disappeared institutions.
