A synergistic LaCoO 3 @Co 3 O 4 composite catalyst achieved a low potential gap of 1.14 V. Interfacial lattice defects and optimized electronic states facilitated the lattice oxygen mechanism, enhancing bifunctional OER/ORR activity.
