Field trials conducted in 2025 at the Tennessee Valley Research and Extension Center in North Alabama evaluated 14 cotton varieties under moderate to high reniform nematode pressure. Varieties differed significantly in stand establishment, biomass, nematode egg density, and lint yield. Nematicide application significantly reduced nematode egg density and increased plant biomass and lint yield. Several varieties, including PHY 357 W3FE and DP 2141NR B3XF, performed comparably to resistant standards, producing high yields despite nematode pressure. Results demonstrated a negative correlation between nematode density and lint yield, highlighting the value of integrating nematode-resistant varieties with nematicide use to optimize cotton productivity under reniform nematode pressure.
