A red fluorescent OLED with an unprecedented external quantum efficiency of 10.6% is created using an exciplex forming system as a host for a conventional fluorescent dopant not showing delayed fluorescence. Quantitative analysis indicates that over 35% of the total excitons are converted to emission light, clearly indicating the triplet harvesting in the system.
