This article analyzes the importance of QS and Times Higher Education (THE) international ranking systems in assessing the quality of higher education. The study highlights the position of Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions in international rankings and the factors influencing their development. It also substantiates the impact of scientific activity, international integration, and educational quality on students’ cognitive development. The article identifies priority directions for developing the higher education system based on international standards.
