Abstract: the article is devoted to the analysis of the legal regime of information on the private life of citizens legally enshrined in civil law and personal data law. Within the framework of the article, the subject of regulation of legislation on personal data is highlighted, the approaches of the legislator to establish a list of information on the private life of citizens with respect to which protection measures are provided for by the law are examined, the norms of the law restricting the use, dissemination and processing of such information are examined, the methods of protecting private information established by law are determined lives of citizens and the practice of applying legislation in this area.
