Abstract This review aims to explore how ancient ethical frameworks influence the development and functioning of modern organizations, highlighting the continued relevance and application of traditional ethical principles in contemporary organizational contexts. A systematic review of literature was conducted by analyzing scholarly articles, historical texts, and case studies related to ancient ethical systems—such as those from Indian, Greek, and Chinese traditions—and their lasting impact on present-day organizational values, leadership, and decision-making processes. The review reveals that foundational ethical concepts, including integrity, duty, justice, and collective welfare, remain central to the ethos of modern organizations. These principles are reflected in ethical leadership practices, the design of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and the formulation of organizational codes of conduct across various sectors. At the same time, the study identifies significant challenges in integrating ancient ethical wisdom into today’s dynamic and diverse business environments, particularly in the face of globalization, technological change, and cultural pluralism. The findings suggest that understanding and applying ancient ethical principles can enhance the quality of ethical decision-making, foster greater organizational trust, and promote sustainable growth. By integrating these time-tested values into their practices and policies, organizations may be better equipped to navigate complex ethical dilemmas and strengthen their commitment to social responsibility in an increasingly interconnected world. This review underscores the on-going importance of ancient ethics as a valuable resource for shaping ethical and resilient organizations.
