Summary Hepatectomy is a cornerstone of treatment of various hepatic pathologies but imposes significant possible complications. In this narrative review we aim to provide an overview of major complications, including bile leakage, post-hepatectomy hemorrhage, post-hepatectomy liver failure, and intra-abdominal abscesses and their current state-of-the-art management.
