Abstract

-aryl oxyallyl cation intermediates. In the presence of sodium sulfinate salts, nucleophilic addition occurs to furnish α-sulfonyl enol ethers in high yield as a single regioisomer. The resulting α-sulfonyl enol ether adducts are highly versatile for applications in postfunctionalization reactions to create structurally diverse value-added compounds.
