Creating Spaces for Equity? The Role of Positioning in Peer-Led Literature Discussions

Literature discussion groups put students at the center of literature study and are intended to create a more democratic forum where students 9 voices are heard and valued. But observations in one classroom show that even in such groups, factors like gender, cultural background, and status play a role in whose ideas get expressed and are actually listened to.
