Introduction: Amid ongoing reforms in higher education, young university faculty are experiencing mounting occupational stress. This study investigates the stress levels and contributing factors affecting young teachers in nine universities in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province. Methods: Data were collected via a questionnaire survey using convenience sampling, yielding 300 valid responses. Through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression modeling, the study examines key dimensions such as career development, guarantee for daily life, interpersonal relationship, role responsibilities and self-expectations, organizational and management, assessment system. Results: Factors such as age, daily working hours, income, career development opportunities, and organizational climate significantly impact stress levels. Discussion: Based on the findings, the paper proposes targeted strategies to alleviate stress, including increasing faculty autonomy, fostering collaboration, improving research environments, and promoting a positive mindset.
