I n the image interpretation process,the radiologist is called upon tomake observations, characterize these observations, and make infer-ences from them in the text report. Most observations are made on the basis of image findings, but there is other “evidence ” available to the radi-ologist in certain settings—for exam-ple, measurements made by using the imaging modality (eg, obstetric ultra-sonography) or computer-aided detec-tion information.
