Other Pt.1 (Survival) & Stories of Other, a collaborative feminist exhibition and workshop series, names a feminist practice of refusal, solidarity and the power of temporal collective action within contemporary feminist art and resistance. Conceived by Iranian-born artist, Aida Wilde with collaborators Nasty Gallery (UK), the exhibition took place during International Women’s Day weekend, March 6–9, 2025, at the Corner Space, Bethnal Green (UK). Rooted in punk and DIY activism, it echoed the legacy of See Red Women’s Workshop (SRWW). Wilde’s artefacts sustain a visceral visibility for killjoy feminist narratives and feminist pedagogy, grounded in her long history of working with marginalised communities and feminist collectives. Choosing to collaborate with grassroots feminist group Nasty Gallery (NG), Wilde utilised Catherine Grant’s concept of anachronistic feminist temporality, and Amy Tobin’s frameworks for collaborative feminist practice. NG has historically curated diverse feminist artists addressing misogyny, abuse, trauma, body positivity, and cultural reclamation. Freed from institutional gatekeeping, Other Pt.1 (Survival) and Stories of Other bypassed brand alignment, curatorial trend-chasing, and risk aversion. Together, these works challenge historical erasure, confront dominant power structures, and cultivate feminist solidarities, demonstrating how feminist art can foster radical imagination and act as a catalyst for empowerment.
