This is a book in which Stock models a five-part paradigm for new research into music in everyday life with a case study of indigenous Bunun in Taiwan in the mid-2000s. In Introduction , the aims of this research are: revealing more globally several major ongoing trends in music making in Bunun musical life; extending the literature on everyday musical life into new settings; and allowing readers to explore how widely found processes and conditions in the contemporary era impact the daily lives of small, close-knit indigenous societies worldwide (p. 2).
