The archaeological monitoring and recording comprised the observation by a competent archaeologist of all intrusive groundworks associated with the proposed development. These works comprised the machine excavation of foundation and service trenches, along with associated landscaping. Records were maintained and deposits were assessed for the palaeoenvironmental potential, but none were identified that required sampling. Between October 2023 and October 2024, Cotswold Archaeology carried out archaeological monitoring and recording during groundworks at Law Farm, Bath Road, Old Sodbury, South Gloucestershire. The archaeological monitoring and recording identified remains likely associated with the disused farm buildings, and of late post-medieval to modern date, including former yard surfaces in the northern and central parts of the site, remnants of a wall in the central part of the site and a trackway in the southern part of the site. No other features or deposits of archaeological interest were observed and no artefactual material was recovered.
