The conjunction "And" in the Russian dialects of the Amur region (constructive and communicative-pragmatic properties)

The subject of the study is the coordinating conjunction "and," while its focus is on the constructive and communicative-pragmatic properties of this conjunction, realized through its use within the dialectal space. The empirical basis of the work consists of facts extracted from the dictionary "Russian Dialects of the Amur Region," which are interpreted considering the context of their use, as well as the lexical composition and content. Detailed consideration is given to aspects of the topic such as the morphological-syntactic composition of the word forms functioning in constructions with the conjunction "and," as well as the description of situations in which dialect speakers resort to these constructions. Special attention is paid to the relationship between the use of constructions and the cognitive worldview of dialect speakers, which is based on the realities of their surrounding environment, as well as on everyday concerns, leisure activities, and pastimes. The article applies the following research methods: descriptive, comparative, as well as semantic and communicative-pragmatic analysis. The research is conducted within the framework of the Far Eastern syntactic school, where the central concept is the constructive properties of the conjunction—formal characteristics of the structure that a particular conjunction organizes as an expression of a certain type of syntactic relationship. The main conclusions of the work are that the conjunction "and" in the Russian dialects of the Amur Region does not differ in its constructive aspect from its usages in modern Russian literary language; however, in the Amur dialect, it transforms from a simple grammatical tool for connection into an important component of the linguistic worldview, reflecting historically established ways of conceptualizing reality within the context of a settler culture. A special contribution of the author to the research is the meticulously collected, classified, and analyzed reliable empirical material from various perspectives, as well as the results obtained based on this material. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that such a comprehensive description of the constructive and communicative-pragmatic properties of the conjunction "and" in dialects has been conducted in Russian studies for the first time. The practical significance of the research is seen in the inclusion of its results in the picture of the anthropology of dialectal words.
