A significant part of Krasnoyarsk Krai lies within the Arctic zone. Changes in Russia’s domestic policy priorities, associated with the allocation of substantial resources for the maintenance and development of the Arctic zone, promote the investment attractiveness of the region. A special place in this regard belongs to its strategic position along the Northern Sea Route: the presence of three operating ports and one port under construction, as well as access to China, Mongolia, and Central Asia via river transport routes. In addition, the region possesses explored and substantial mineral reserves. Using the region as a case study, the author examines the effectiveness of government support measures for investors in the Arctic, analyzes investment activity in the region over the past six years, and draws conclusions about the risks associated with such investments.
