Poultry meat has a significant share in the animal protein demands of the increasing world population but it also has considerable environmental implications. In the world, growing poultry production practices have raised concerns about environmental sustainability and animal welfare. Sustainable poultry production strategies encompass the efficient use of natural resources and the minimization of environmental footprints and, improved animal welfare. The key to sustainable poultry production is optimizing feed conversion ratios, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and responsibly managing water and land resources while maintaining animal welfare. In this review examines how the poultry meat production industry can significantly contribute to climate change by reducing its carbon footprint through environmentally friendly production techniques, and improve animal welfare, thereby contributing to long-term sustainability.
