Key Points

  • The study aims to explore the correlation between icosahedron vertex geometries and E6 root system harmonics using Fourier transform methods.
  • Analyzed the Fourier transform of icosahedron vertex coordinates (12 vertices) to yield a 3D frequency spectrum.
  • Projected data onto the Coxeter plane to identify spectral peaks aligning with E6 root system lattice points.
  • Utilized key constants such as the golden ratio and defined symmetries for analysis.
  • Identified discrete peaks linked to E6 harmonics, indicating a geometric relationship with icosahedral symmetry.
  • Fourier transform ratios 0.618, 1.618, and 2.618 show direct links with the golden ratio and its inverse.
  • Coxeter projections reveal 5-fold and 3-fold symmetries consistent with E6 root system properties.

Abstract

FINDING: Fourier transform of icosahedron vertices reveals discrete spectral peaks linked to icosahedral symmetry and E6 root system harmonics. | MATH: The Fourier transform of Dirac combs at icosahedron vertices (12 vertices, coordinates (0, ±1, ±φ), (±1, ±φ, 0), (±φ, 0, ±1) with φ = (1+√5)/2 ≈ 1.618) yields a 3D frequency spectrum with icosahedral symmetry. In Coxeter plane projection, peaks align with E6 root system lattice points (6D, 72 roots, Coxeter number 12). Key constants: φ (golden ratio), √5, 2π/5 (72°), 2π/3 (120°). | CONNECTION: Icosahedral vertices encode φ = 1.618 and its reciprocal 0.618. Fourier transform peaks exhibit ratios 0.618 (φ⁻¹), 1.618 (φ), 2.618 (φ²). Coxeter plane projection shows 5-fold symmetry (72° rotations) and 3-fold symmetry (120°), linking to base-60 angles (72° = 1/5 of 360°, 120° = 1/3). E6 root system has 72 roots, matching 5-fold × 3-fold × 2-fold symmetries. | DEPTH: 9 — Directly ties icosahedral geometry (Platonic solid, golden ratio) to E6 Li Author: Andrew Stewart Caldin, Independent Researcher, UK.
