Abstract

The global health effort to eradicate poliomyelitis (polio) has encountered a number of unforeseen and unpredictable challenges. It provides an overview of some of the remaining barriers to eradication and looks toward overcoming these through the Polio Eradication and Endgame Strategic Plan.
