Song lyrics are one of the cultural genres as a means used by poets and authors to express their feelings and feelings. This study examines the cultural values of the Toba Batak, through the lyrics of the song Tangiang Ni Dainang. The purpose of the study was to formulate the cultural values contained in the lyrics of the song Tangiang Ni Dainang. The method used is the ethnolinguistic or ethnographic method; a field study which is the work of describing a culture by understanding a view of life from the point of view of the natives, and its relationship to life. For data collection, researchers used documentation techniques by utilizing documentation and analyzing the content of the lyrics of the song Tangiang Ni Dainang. This technique is the main way to examine the object of research, namely by analyzing the lyrics of the song Tangiang Ni Dainang. Based on the results of the study, the lyrics of the song Tangiang Ni Dainang have cultural meanings and values, namely: (1) cultural values of human relations with God and (2) cultural values of human relations with humans. Cultural values are based on a sense of sincerity, sincerity, both physically and mentally. One need not expect the same in return or kindness from others. In addition, the lyrics of the song convey the meaning or message that the song Prayer of a Mother (Tangiang Ni Dainang) is very meaningful to someone.
