E.V. Borisov’s ideas on the conditions of set-theoretic paradoxes are discussed in this article. An attempt to clarify the concept of paradox and to distinguish between the concepts of paradox and contradiction is made. The question of a negative property as a sufficient reason for the emergence of paradoxes is discussed. The connection between logic and epistemology in the discussion of the problem of paradoxes is demonstrated. Questions about clarifying the concepts of condition and cause of paradoxes are posed. Critical arguments in relation to Borisov’s theses on the conditions of set-theoretic paradoxes are formulated.
