Against the backdrop of globalization, the positive role of effective intercultural communication in shaping a national image has become increasingly prominent. Among them, as a carrier of cultural communication, documentaries, with their characteristics of authenticity and objectivity, have gradually become a bridge for mutual understanding and communication among different regions and cultures. Seasons of China starts from the Twenty-Four Solar Terms and takes the experiences of a British host in twenty-four provinces and cities across the country as a clue, effectively spreading traditional Chinese culture. This paper uses the content analysis method and combines relevant theories to analyze the key plots in the documentary. The study finds that using the perspective of the "other" in the documentary can make the narrative more authentic and objective, and the application of symbols can make cultural information more concrete and vivid, effectively spreading the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and providing practical references for the shooting methods of documentaries for external publicity.
