The article is devoted to the study of Siberian Telegram channels as a new information space. The author considers them as a special type of media that combines the features of traditional media and social networks. The purpose of the study is to analyze the most cited Siberian Telegram channels, their citation index, engagement rate, and the content features of the comments. The article uses methods of typological, structural-functional, comparative and content analysis. The empirical basis of the study was made up of the ten most cited Siberian Telegram channels with news and socio-political topics. The results of the study show that the most cited Siberian Telegram channels are Siberian Express, Borus, Kuzbass. Glavnoe and others. Telegram channels determine the “usefulness” of subscribers by studying their behavior. The author notes that users of the analyzed channels often express dissatisfaction through quick reactions and comments. The refore, some Telegram channels prefer to limit the ability to comment and edit a selection of quick reactions. Thus, the article contributes to the study of the new information space and the modern regional mediasystem. The results of the study can be useful for understanding the influence of Telegram channels on public opinion and the formation of thein formation environment.
