The field of Physical and Health Education includes a wide range of influences on the individual's development. The school should represent the most important institution in encouraging physical activity and developing awareness of its importance, as well as the opportunity to accomplish the set tasks. Given the well-known postulates about the impact of individual physical abilities on cognitive, social, moral and emotional aspects of development, comprehensiveness and active participation of students in physical education and health education, are positive opportunities for excessive use of digital technology. As the teaching in the recent period, for the most part, or completely, was realized through distance learning, in one part the possibilities of realization of online teaching of Physical and Health Education were also considered. With its contents, prescribed through curricula and plans, and specially designed methods and means, the entire intention of this area is aimed at encouraging and improving physical development and strengthening the body, which represents the basis for other educational influences. The aim of this paper is to analyze and promote the concept of physical literacy of students in school and the possibilities that improve the teaching of Physical and Health Education in school. By analyzing and conceptually clarifying the concept of physical literacy, the paper implies the possibility of opposing sedentary culture. Examples of the promotion of students' physical and health culture, their physical literacy, and the possibilities of improving Physical and Health Education, which as such, represent the starting theoretical, research and practical resources, have been singled out as practical implications of the paper.
