Urban trees are essential in maintaining the urban ecosystem. The trees provide countless services to urban dwellers for enjoying a healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately, due to anthropogenic factors, these trees face several problems. The current study focuses on analyzing the opinion and perception of urban dwellers towards urban trees in Bahawalpur city. A survey was conducted to analyze the demographic characters, opinions and behavior toward urban trees. The results showed that the majority of responders were found to be between the ages of 21 to 40 years and income between 10K to 20K per month. 40% of respondents think that the status of urban trees is good however, 60% of the respondents contradict this opinion and conclude that the existing vegetation is unsatisfactory. Some tree species were preferred such as B. variegata by respondents based on various traits, while others were disliked such as C. erectus. The outcomes of the study provides a rich source of information for local government, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) and Forest Department to plan and implement future tree plantation accordingly.
