The article is devoted to the analysis of the activities of subjects of public administration in the field of road traffic and its safety in Ukraine, which includes legal doctrinal provisions of administrative law, devoted to solving topical issues of public administration activities in the studied sphere of relations. It is noted that despite the fact that the issue of road traffic and its safety is the object of many scientific studies, there are practical problems of administrative and legal regulation of relations in this sphere, which is largely due to an insufficiently clearly defined system of subjects, which requires new views on the activities of public administration in the field of road traffic and its safety. It is stated that modern administrative law regulates a wide range of social relations, inextricably linked with the institutions of public authority and public management, including in the field of road traffic and its safety. In the absence of a normative definition of the term «public administration», individual doctrinal provisions and regulatory legal acts were analyzed. It was emphasized that public administration in the field of road safety is a component of the administrative activity of public administration, which covers a wide range of authorized entities, which include: executive authorities, local governments, entities of delegated powers, public organizations, as well as other entities in the performance of executive functions delegated by them by law, whose activities are aimed at satisfying the public interest. On this basis, a number of regulatory legal acts were analyzed that empower individual entities of public administration to perform state tasks in the field of road traffic and its safety. The conclusions define the system of public administration entities in the field of road traffic and its safety, and also emphasize that in today’s conditions, the activities of public administration entities are a dynamic process, it can undergo constant changes, and therefore a number of practical issues arise, the solution of which requires in-depth theoretical developments and the development of scientifically based recommendations for the creation and formation of a holistic system of public administration entities in road traffic and its safety.
