When jokes are examined, it is possible to have an idea and obtain information about many subjects such as the thoughts, customs, traditions, morals, socio-cultural structures and even the history of the people. In this respect, we can say that jokes are a mirror of society. In this study, the position of the joke in the Turkish narrative tradition, especially in Turkish literature, is discussed.
