The article examines the issues of anxiety, self-esteem and the level of aspirations of primary school-age children, determined by their activity in the field of sports. The relevance of studying self-esteem, the level of aspirations and personal anxiety of primary school children is due to the importance of this period for the beginning of differentiation of self-image, inner and outer world. For athletes of primary school age, sport, like educational activities, becomes a leading activity and therefore determines the characteristics of self-esteem, the level of aspirations and can be a factor in reducing personal anxiety. The purpose of the study is to study the differences in the manifestation of personal anxiety, self-esteem and the level of aspirations of primary school children with varying degrees of involvement in sports activities. As research methods: "Diagnostics of self–esteem" Dembo - Rubinstein, "Scale of personal anxiety" A. M. Parishioners. The sample consisted of 53 athletes, boys and girls aged 8-10 years, engaged in taekwondo. To compare the indicators, a group of respondents who had never played sports was formed, this group included boys and girls, 47 people of the same age. The results. It has been established that there are differences in the haracteristics of self-esteem, the level of aspirations and anxiety of children who play sports and children who do not play them. Children who play sports have a lower level of personal anxiety, as well as higher self-esteem in a number of qualities and a more realistic level of aspirations. The relationship between the level of anxiety and self-esteem characteristics is shown with a high degree of involvement in sports activities. Conclusion. The role of sport in the development of adequate self-esteem and the level of aspirations is shown.
