Highly-efficient simultaneous 3D radial joint T1-T2-FF mapping for isotropic resolution liver imaging at 0.55T

Motivation: Low-field MRI has potential to provide affordable diagnosis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. T1-T1-FF are important biomarkers as they provide information on fat, inflammation and fibrosis; yet clinical scans are lengthy and affected by respiratory motion. Goal(s): To investigate the feasibility of an efficient 3D-radial T1-T2-FF sequence for evaluating liver integrity at 0.55T. Approach: A free-running, 3D-radial, golden-angle sequence with spoiled gradient-echo readout was implemented, achieving 2.5mm isotropic resolution for joint T1-T2-FF mapping in 4min. Results: The sequence was tested on a T1-T2-FF phantom, showing good agreement with references. Promising results were obtained in healthy subjects, obtaining T1-T2-FF whole liver maps in 4min. Impact: Highly-efficient 3D radial joint T1-T2 and FF mapping of the liver using low-field MRI could provide a more affordable, accessible, and comprehensive approach for liver disease assessment.
