Comments on "Sustained Yield Versus Clear-Cutting—A Hypothetical Case"

Abstract From time to time the Editor receives the suggestion that the pages of the JOURNAL should be open for a discussion of articles which have already appeared. Despite the fact that such discussions always are welcome, few are received. In the November 1938 issue of the JOURNAL "A Lumberman"compared sustained yield and clear-cutting as seen from the point of view of a manager of a forest property. The author expressed the hope that there would be a free discussion of his paper. The following three articles by foresters provide interesting viewpoints.
