The article considers the formation of a worldview as a key task of education in pedagogy. In the context of modern social and technological changes, as well as an ever-increasing amount of information, the importance of forming a holistic and critical worldview among young people is becoming especially relevant. The authors emphasize that education should not be limited to the transfer of knowledge and skills, but its main goal is to become a person capable of understanding his place in the world and making informed decisions. The formation of a worldview is a complex and continuous process that occurs under the influence of social, cultural, personal and activity factors. Social factors include family, school, peers, media, and cultural heritage. The authors include age characteristics, individual psychological traits, life experience, reflection and self-awareness as personal and psychological factors. The activity factor includes active practical activity, problem solving and communication. Biological factors, such as predisposition to a certain type of nervous system, can only indirectly influence the basic worldview, but do not determine specific ideas or beliefs. The article examines and distinguishes such key categories as worldview, worldview and world attitude, which form the basis of the ideological phenomenon. The author reveals the meaning of concepts closely related to the worldview, such as ideology, philosophy, religion and science, their interrelation and influence on the formation of individual and social worldviews. As a result of the research, the authors propose their own definition of the worldview for pedagogical science, according to which it is a dynamic, holistic and integrative system of personal meanings, knowledge, values, beliefs and emotional reactions. This system is formed in the process of interacting with the outside world, determines a person’s attitude to reality and acts as a regulator of his behavior and activities. Based on the definition, one’s own understanding of the goals and objectives of the formation and development of a personality’s worldview is outlined, as well as promising areas for further research.
