In September 2016, a trial excavation was conducted in the orchards of Kibbutz Ma zz uva, on the northern bank of Na h al Keziv (Permit No. A-7807; map ref. 214785/772385; Fig. 1), after antiquities were discovered while supervising infrastructure work in preparation for laying a water pipeline. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by Matte Asher Economic Development Company, was directed by Y. Lerer, with the assistance of A. Shapiro (GPS and location map), R. Mishayev (surveying and drafting), N. Getzov (scientific consultation), H. Tahan-Rosen (pottery drawing), M. Krakovsky (flint tools), M. Smilansky (flint drawing) and Z. Turgeman-Yaffe (archaeozoology).
