The article considers the issues of sufficiency of legal protection of the fuel and energy complex. Based on the method of comparative legal research and analysis of statistical information using formal logic, it was concluded that it is necessary to develop institutional foundations for compensation for harm from criminal acts to certain energy objects. It is proposed to single out the fuel and energy complex as a separate object of criminal law protection; clarify the procedural form of compensation for harm in the commission of crimes in the field of energy; at the local level, build and revise internal legal models in accordance with the risks of each individual company.
