The Division of Therapeutics and Medical Consequences (DTMC) played a big role at last week's College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD) in Montreal. This division, part of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), has a single mission: to improve the treatment of substance use disorders (SUDs) “and their medical consequences.” To do this, NIDA gives grants to researchers focusing on the “identification, evaluation, and development of safe and effective therapeutics, such as medications, biologics, devices, digital, and behavioral interventions.”
