With a focus on Bangladesh, which exemplifies paradoxical trends of democratic backsliding alongside significant economic advancements, this study contributes to the broader discourse on democracy and governance. It posits that financial satisfaction plays a crucial role in shaping individuals' perceptions of democratic governance, especially under the legacy of compromised electoral integrity. This research enriches the theoretical and empirical landscape, offering insights into the paradoxical nature of democratic backsliding and economic progress.
