Abstract: While disability studies explores non-normative experiences of temporality and the body, there is an incentive within academic periodization to produce work that situates the "beginning" of modern disability in a singular moment. As a result, there are multiple "arrival points" of disability within literary history–providing us with a paradox and a rare opportunity for collaboration across periods of study.
