Abstract Germinated seeds of both ponderosa pine and eastern white pine can be air-dried 3 days and still resume growth when rewetted. Seeds with radicles 1 to 2 mm before drying recovered best (81 percent), while those with radicles 6 to 15 mm recovered poorly (4 percent).
