The article substantiates the conceptual provisions of the ergatic approach to planning and modelling the spatial future of Ukraine. Particular attention is paid to value orientations, social relations and emotions, people's attitudes to the environment, consideration of spiritual, behavioural, activity and psychological characteristics of the population, peculiarities of behaviour in space and their changes over time. This makes it possible to eliminate uncertainties, intensify positive trends and substantiate the ways of spatial development of the state. The authors proposed spatial changes in terms of: a) zoning of territories as a division of the state's space by a system of ergatic components, within which the relevant processes of life and behaviour should take place; b) development of relations (communication tasks) and understanding of the territory as a process of multidimensional dynamics, their optimisation and formation of spatial integrity; c) placement of new elements (processes) in the existing spatial structure of the state - its natural landscape and urban planning conditions; d) spatio-temporal, structural and parametric coordination of behaviour and processes in the space of the state to create systemic effects in its spatial development. Modelling the space of life and spatial development of the state, taking into account the processes, values and needs of the population, serves to build universal assessments of the ergatic coherence of conditions, values and needs.
