The objective of this study is to determine the time and energy-resolved spectrum emitted by the X-ray Modular Bremsstrahlung Source (MBS). This characterization is based on the absorption coefficient measurements through different filters on the one hand, and subsequent comparison with the results of 3D Maxwell and Monte-Carlo calculations on the other hand. The input parameter of the numerical series is the time evolution of the electric field in the diode of the generator, which is determined from 3D Maxwell calculations. A conductivity model in the gap of the diode excited by the high pulsed power delivered by the generator is investigated, and the results are compared with 3D Maxwell-Vlasov Particle-In-Cell calculations. The time and energy evolution of the X-ray spectrum is determined with a controlled confidence interval.
