Based on feminist communication theory, this study analyzes gender discussions in the comment sections of online novels. It finds that these sections serve as key spaces where female readers actively challenge gender stereotypes and reshape power dynamics through collective expression, despite algorithmic and societal constraints. A case study of Nirvana in Fire illustrates reader engagement with gender roles and equality. While these discussions foster inclusivity and inspire diverse character creation, they also risk homogenization and extreme views. The study recommends platform moderation, balanced authorship, and improved media literacy for optimization.
