The article reveals the features and advantages of using the model of transport and economic balance in solving the tasks of operational, tactical and strategic planning for traffic flows, the movement of passengers and cargo, the launch of new transport infrastructure facilities and the commissioning of new rolling stock. The article highlights the features of building a model of the country's transport and economic balance, taking into account the socio-economic parameters of the development of territories, the interconnection and mutual influence of all modes of transport, and the possibility of building multimodal transportation schemes. The unique possibilities of using the TEB model by transportation participants are shown: real-time assessment of socio-economic effects; prioritization, ranking of many transport projects according to their degree of importance and requested financing; solving the problem of duplication and parallelization of the implementation of individual projects, eliminating irrational competition of carriers and modes of transport. The types and values of economic effects from the use of the software package in the interests of participants – organizations of the transport industry are given.
