This article analyzes structural changes in the retail sector of the Russian Federation caused by the expansion of large digital platforms (marketplaces). The process of e-commerce market concentration and the formation of a duopoly is examined. The paper details the mechanisms of merging trading and banking capital within marketplace ecosystems, as well as the impact of these processes on the competitive environment in the financial sector. The impact of digital platform policies on small and medium-sized enterprises (sellers, pickup point owners) and the transformation of the labor market is analyzed. Special attention is paid to the crisis of traditional offline retail and shopping centers. Based on the data presented, the article concludes on the formation of a new economic model with signs of algorithmic planning, but functioning in the interests of private monopolies, which requires updating state regulation tools.
