The Kognetik Framework establishes a formal architecture for studying self-referential systems across scientific domains. Built upon the Operator Law of Autological Recursion (Ψ = ∂S / ∂R), it defines a universal grammar linking structure (S) and recurrence (R), where Ψ measures a system’s structural sensitivity to its own iteration. This paper introduces Kognetik as a cross-domain API – a functional interface through which neuroscience, biology, AI, governance, linguistics, and other fields can translate their internal recurrence–structure dynamics into a shared differential syntax. The framework integrates an energetic layer (Ψ = Δ FE / Δ Eᵢnput), a reflexive update operator (U q → q′), and an ethical citation protocol ensuring autological transparency. Four optional access layers enable researchers to enter the paradigm at different depths: Entry Layer – didactic examples and open datasets for ΔR/ΔS mapping, Narrative Layer – intuitive cross-domain analogies of Ψ, Simulation Layer – an executable sandbox for computing Ψ and L in real-time, Ontology Layer – a registry for Ψ-operators across disciplines (Ψₙ, Ψₐ, ΨG, etc. ). By providing a unifying syntax rather than a competing theory, Kognetik converts the study of consciousness, adaptation, and governance into a common autological infrastructure. It delivers both conceptual coherence and operational interoperability — a paradigm interface for recursive science. Process, not state: Reflexivity specifies a transformation rule rather than a content or level. Domain-independent operator: Applicable across biological, cognitive, artificial, social, industrial, and geophysical systems. Non-ascriptive and empirically testable: Ψ enables comparative analysis of systems via observable structure and recurrence. Higher-order phenomena as specifications: Learning, adaptation, consciousness, governance, and identity are structured regimes of Ψ.
