ABSTRACT The dexterity of modern firms to gain a competitive edge over rivals is increasingly determined by their effectiveness in managing green knowledge within the current sustainable business market. Building on this premise, this study aims to explore strategic insights into studies on GKM practices and sustainable business performance by ascertaining a systematic review of past research to uncover avenues that require future research attention. The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analysis (PRISMA) approach was adapted to source data from the Scopus database using judgmental sampling techniques with predefined reliability (inclusion and exclusion criteria) and validity (quality assessment) criteria. In all, a systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted on 96 articles supported by analytical tools such as VOSviewer and Biblioshiny software. The outcome of the SLR revealed the productive stakeholders, common GKM dimensions, theoretical perspectives, methods and tools, as well as future research areas imperative to studies on GKM practices and sustainable business performance. In addition, theoretical and managerial implications drawn from the outcome of this study are discussed.
