Influenza A viruses (IAVs) cause serious human infections. Although Australia had remained relatively unaffected by avian IAVs, H7N3, H7N9, and H7N8 IAVs caused outbreaks in farms in Australia in 2024. Thus, we reviewed detection capabilities for avian IAVs in human diagnostic tests.
